About 30 Seconds To Mars

30 Seconds to Mars is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1998, fronted by actor and musician Jared Leto alongside his brother Shannon Leto on drums. After building a following through years of touring, their major-label debut 30 Seconds to Mars (2002) established a foundation, but it was A Beautiful Lie (2005) that broke the band internationally, going platinum in multiple countries and producing the singles The Kill and From Yesterday. This Is War (2009) debuted at number two in multiple countries and featured Kings and Queens and Hurricane. Love Lust Faith + Dreams (2013) and America (2018) continued their commercial presence. The band holds a Guinness World Record for the longest concert tour in history, covering 309 shows across 59 countries over two years in support of This Is War. Jared Leto's dual career as an actor including Dallas Buyers Club and Blade Runner 2049 has kept the band in the cultural conversation between album cycles. Their music blends alternative rock, post-grunge, and art-rock influences with a cinematic, anthemic quality built for large stages.
