Nonpoint is an American heavy metal band from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, formed in 1997 by vocalist Elias Soriano and drummer Robb Rivera, who had been building the project under the name Nonpoint Factor since the early 1990s. The band emerged from the South Florida metal scene alongside Puya, Endo, and Darwin's Waiting Room, releasing their independent debut Separate Yourself in 1998 before signing with MCA Records for the major-label breakthrough Statement (2000). They played Ozzfest 2001 and toured relentlessly with Mudvayne, Fuel, Taproot, and Drowning Pool. Soriano, of Dominican and Puerto Rican descent, has been the defining voice of the band throughout its history, while Rivera has been the constant rhythmic foundation. Their breakthrough single Bullet with a Name became their signature track. The band's eighth album The Return (2014) debuted at number one on the US Hard Rock Albums chart. In April 2021, the band launched their independent label 361 Degrees Records. The current lineup includes rhythm guitarist Rasheed Thomas, bassist Adam Woloszyn, and lead guitarist Jaysin Zeilstra alongside Soriano and Rivera. Across more than 25 years and ten-plus studio albums, Nonpoint has sold hundreds of thousands of records and maintained one of rock's most loyal fanbases through relentless touring and a refusal to compromise their sound.
