About Socialburn

Socialburn was an American post-grunge band from Blountstown, Florida, formed around high school friends Neil Alday on vocals and guitar, Dusty Price on bass, and Brandon Bittner on drums. The band built their following by expanding from their tiny central Florida hometown into the Tallahassee club scene, where their straightforward post-grunge sound won over local radio. After adding guitarist Chris Cobb and self-releasing two independent albums - What a Beautiful Waste and World Outside - the band worked their way up through shows in Jacksonville and Orlando, capitalizing on the regional buzz around Florida rock acts in the Creed era. Their persistence paid off with a deal on Elektra Records in 2002. Their major label debut Where You Are arrived in February 2003 and sold over 100,000 copies, producing two charting rock radio singles in Down and Everyone. Extensive touring followed alongside Blue October, Default, and Seether. The band was dropped by Elektra in the wake of the AOL Time Warner merger and signed with iRock Entertainment, releasing their follow-up The Beauty of Letting Go in October 2005. When their label folded shortly after, Socialburn found themselves without representation and officially disbanded in November 2007. The original four members reunited for shows in 2015.
