About Troy Patrick Farrell

Troy Patrick Farrell, known as Drummer Troy, is an American rock drummer raised in Griffith, Indiana who relocated to Los Angeles in 1992 after turning 18. His passion for drumming was sparked at age 12 when his older brother took him to his first concert - a Dio show - and he was transfixed watching the drummer. Influenced early on by Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick, Joey Kramer of Aerosmith, and Vik Foxx of Enuff Z'nuff, Farrell built his career through relentless networking on the Sunset Strip, meeting CC DeVille at the Cat Club which led to a stint in DeVille's solo band Samantha 7. Over the following decades he became one of rock's most well-traveled working drummers, playing with Jani Lane of Warrant, Bulletboys, Gene Loves Jezebel, John Corabi of Mötley Crüe, Gilby Clarke of Guns N' Roses, and Pretty Boy Floyd among many others. He is best known for long tenures with White Lion and Tantric, releasing studio and live albums and DVDs with both bands and touring extensively - in his career logging fourteen national tours and six international tours reaching nearly 40 countries. A standout moment came with White Lion in 2008 when the band performed their final shows in India before crowds of over 40,000 fans who sang every word of every song. He also participated in Bonzo's Birthday Bash, the prestigious annual tribute to Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham. Farrell is endorsed by Rockett Drum Works, Sabian Cymbals, Vater Percussion, and Aquarian Drumheads, and hosts the rock radio show This, That and the Other.
