The band's true breakthrough arrived with its debut full-length, Satisfaction Is the Death of Desire, released on November 11, 1997 through Victory Records. The album was praised by critics, even called a "hardcore classic," and lifted the band out of the underground scene, earning them a record deal with Universal Records. In fact, Satisfaction sold more copies than any other debut in the history of the record company. Capitalizing on that momentum, Hatebreed released Perseverance in 2002, which became their first album to reach the Billboard 200, peaking at number 50, followed the next year by The Rise of Brutality, which debuted at number 30 on the Billboard 200. Tours with national metal bands such as Slayer, Deftones, Entombed and Napalm Death influenced their music and brought them to the attention of many non-hardcore and metalcore fans. Throughout its career, Hatebreed has weathered numerous lineup changes while Jasta remained the band's constant creative force. Supremacy arrived on Roadrunner Records in 2006, featuring new guitarist Frank Novinec, who had previously spent time playing with Ringworm, Terror, and Integrity. Their song "Live for This" was nominated at the Grammy Awards in 2005 for Best Metal Performance, a milestone that cemented the band's crossover reputation. Jasta also found a second career as the host of MTV's metal juggernaut Headbangers Ball for several years in the 2000s. Guitarist Wayne Lozinak rejoined the band in 2008 and they released For the Lions, a covers album, in May 2009, followed by a self-titled studio effort in September, and the group's sixth studio outing, The Divinity of Purpose, arrived in 2013 and peaked at number 20 on Billboard's Top 200 albums of the year and number one on the Hard Rock albums chart. The resulting Concrete Confessional came out on Nuclear Blast in May 2016, followed by an ambitious world tour. Hatebreed remains active today, still fronted by Jasta and still built around a devastating live show that has defined the band for three decades. The Grammy-nominated project has sold over 1.5 million albums, and eight full-length records later, they continue to thrive and surprise. Widely regarded as one of the architects of modern metalcore, the band's influence can be heard across generations of hardcore and heavy metal acts, and their reputation as a relentless touring force has never faded, even as members like bassist Chris Beattie have moved on from the lineup in recent years.

For this archive, Hatebreed holds a lasting place in Wayne Dennon's collection of concert photography. Wayne photographed the band across three shows between 2003 and 2007, spanning three different cities in two states, capturing the raw intensity of their live performances during one of the most pivotal stretches of their career. Those images, 84 photos in total, remain among the most viewed in the archive, with visitors returning to them 63,253 times, a testament to both Wayne's eye for capturing the ferocity of a Hatebreed set and the enduring devotion of the band's fans.
