Foo Fighters

Over the following two decades, Foo Fighters became one of rock's most consistently successful touring and recording acts. In support of Echoes, Silence, Patience, Grace, the band played two sold-out shows at the new Wembley Stadium in London in June 2008, with the second show featuring a surprise appearance by Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin. Across their career the band released 11 albums and sold more than 30 million albums worldwide. Tragedy struck in March 2022 when their drummer, Taylor Hawkins, died just days before the band was supposed to play a show in Colombia. Just over a week later, the band won three Grammys, including Best Rock Album for Medicine at Midnight, making them officially the most-awarded American band in Grammy history, with 15 total wins. In 2021, the Foo Fighters were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, a fitting honor for a band built on Grohl's restless work ethic and the group's reputation as one of the last great arena and stadium rock acts.

The band regrouped following Hawkins's death, honoring his memory before continuing forward. The band first regrouped in September 2022 for the all-star Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts at Wembley Stadium in London and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, and in 2023 Foo Fighters returned with But Here We Are, their first studio album after Hawkins's death, with Josh Freese introduced as the band's drummer for the live shows that followed. The album marked a clear restart for the group, earning two Grammy nominations and sending the band back onto the road in 2023 and 2024. Even after further change, Another lineup change came in 2025, when Foo Fighters parted ways with Freese, but the band kept moving, marking the 30th anniversary of their debut album with new material. More than thirty years since Grohl first entered the studio alone, Foo Fighters remain active and are widely regarded as one of the defining rock bands of their generation, their catalog of anthems and their live shows still drawing massive global audiences.

For this archive, the Foo Fighters hold a special place among the bands Wayne Dennon captured on film.
