Crossfade

Their self-titled debut album Crossfade (2004), released on Columbia Records, became a genuine breakthrough, producing the singles Cold and So Far Away that received extensive rock radio and MTV2 airplay. Cold in particular became a staple of early 2000s rock radio, its combination of heavy verses and soaring melodic chorus capturing the post-grunge template at its most effective and introducing the band to a national audience well beyond their South Carolina fanbase. The album sold over a million copies in the United States and established Crossfade as a credible commercial force in the mainstream rock landscape.

Their sophomore album We All Bleed (2006) continued in a similar musical direction, maintaining their presence on rock radio without dramatically expanding their commercial footprint. The band navigated the challenges of following up a successful debut in a rock landscape that was becoming increasingly fragmented, releasing additional material and continuing to tour for a dedicated fanbase that appreciated their straightforward, emotionally resonant approach to hard rock. Sloan has continued to lead the band through various lineup changes, maintaining the Crossfade name and its connection to the audience that embraced their debut, and the band remains active on the rock touring circuit.
