About Rob Zombie

Rob Zombie first emerged from the underground clubs of New York City in 1985, when Robert Cummings, a Parsons School of Design student who adopted the stage name Rob Zombie, came up with the band idea while attending Parsons School of Design in his junior year, naming it after a 1932 horror movie starring Bela Lugosi called White Zombie . The group, co-founded with his girlfriend at the time, bassist Sean Yseult , started as a noise rock band, releasing three EPs and one studio album in that style before changing to a heavy metal-oriented sound that broke them into the mainstream . Over the years the lineup rotated through several guitarists and drummers before settling into a more stable configuration that would carry the band to national attention.
