About Orange Sky

Orange Sky is a rock band from Trinidad and Tobago, led by brothers Nigel Rojas on vocals and lead guitar and Nicholas Rojas on bass, alongside drummer Obasi Springer, rhythm guitarist Dion Howe, and keyboardist Richard Hall. Formed in the late 1990s, the band built their reputation on a sound that fuses hard rock and heavy metal with the reggae, calypso, and Caribbean influences of their homeland - described by critics as melodic metal with a heavy blues dose and just enough island flavor to set them apart. Their 2005 US debut album Upstairs introduced them to American rock audiences and launched an extensive North American touring campaign that brought them to venues across the Midwest and beyond. Their follow-up Dat Iz Voodoo (2008) further showcased their ability to cross musical and geographic borders. Over the years Orange Sky has toured with guitar legend Yngwie Malmsteen, charted with a ska-flavored cover of Duran Duran's Hungry Like the Wolf, and earned the distinction of being named official International Ambassadors of Trinidad and Tobago. Their live shows became their calling card - raw, high-energy performances that won over American rock crowds who had never heard Caribbean accents in heavy music before.
