Sloth

Sloth was an alternative metal band from Rancho Cucamonga, California, built around guitarist Kristo Panos, vocalist Rich Love, bassist Andy Kowatch, and drummer Adam Figura. The band developed a guitar-driven sound they described as classic-influenced rock with a modern feel - punishing and pop-savvy in equal measure - and built their reputation the hard way by grinding through the Southern California club circuit and eventually joining the Vans Warped Tour in the summer of 1999 after cold-calling their way onto the bill. The move paid off, as Warped Tour organizer Kevin Lyman invited them back for a proper slot in 2001, and over the following two years the band became a fixture on the traveling festival alongside Deftones, Bad Religion, and Pennywise. They developed a loyal following throughout the Southwest and played packed hometown shows with Papa Roach, Disturbed, and Alien Ant Farm. The band signed with Hollywood Records and entered the studio with producer Bob Marlette, known for his work with Black Sabbath and Saliva, to record their major label debut. Dead Generation was released in September 2003 and featured the lead single Someday. The band toured extensively behind the record through late 2003, bringing their high-energy live show to venues across the country.
