About Kid Rock
Kid Rock, born Robert James Ritchie on January 17, 1971 in Romeo, Michigan, is an American musician whose career defies easy categorization — moving fluidly between hip hop, hard rock, country, blues, and Southern rock across three decades of recording and performing while maintaining an outspoken, blue-collar American identity that has made him one of the most polarizing and commercially successful entertainers of his generation. Raised in the Detroit suburbs, Ritchie immersed himself in the city's hip hop scene as a teenager, developing as a rapper and DJ before gradually incorporating the hard rock and country influences that would eventually define his mainstream breakthrough.
