About Chuk Cooley & the Demon Hammers

Chuk Cooley & the Demon Hammers formed out of Tulsa, Oklahoma, built around the story and songwriting of frontman Chuk Cooley, who spent years earning his stripes in other outfits before stepping into the spotlight under his own name. Chuk grew up watching his father Dallas Cooley write and play songs, and once behind bars he finally learned to play the guitar himself, having been out of prison for 15 years with several attempted bands behind him. Before the Demon Hammers took shape, Chuk Cooley toured and recorded across the United States with the bands Berserkr, Two Doors Down, and Hellablack, and after going solo he released two EPs titled "Takin' Down Demons" and "Addicted to Self Destruction". The Demon Hammers name arrived when Cooley assembled a full backing band, and he added a backing band and released a 6 song demo called "Chuk Cooley & the Demon Hammers (Volume I)" and also the 8 song EP "Look at Us Now!" , setting the template for the group's raw, road-worn southern rock sound.
