Cavo is an American hard rock and post-grunge band from St. Louis, Missouri, formed in 2001 by vocalist Casey Walker, guitarist Ben Sherwood, bassist Chris Hobbs, and drummer Mike Greer. The band built their following through years of relentless Midwest touring before signing with Reprise Records and releasing their major label debut Bright Nights Dark Days (2009), which produced the rock radio singles Champagne and Let It Go that received solid airplay on active rock stations across North America. Their melodic post-grunge sound — heavy enough for rock radio, accessible enough for mainstream audiences — fit comfortably into the early 2010s rock landscape.
Champagne in particular became their most recognized track, its anthemic chorus and relatable lyrical themes connecting with rock radio audiences in a way that earned the band significant national exposure. The album's commercial performance demonstrated that St. Louis had a genuine rock band capable of competing on the national stage, and Cavo toured extensively behind it sharing stages with Nickelback, Hinder, and Shinedown. Their second album Class of 2013 followed on Razor and Tie Records, continuing their presence on rock radio with the single Let It Go receiving additional airplay.
