About Skid Row

Skid Row was formed in Toms River, New Jersey, in early 1986 when bassist Rachel Bolan and guitarist Dave "The Snake" Sabo began writing songs together. The group originally included guitarist Dave "The Snake" Sabo, lead vocalist Matt Fallon, drummer John Ratkowski Jr., bassist Rachel Bolan and guitarist Steve Brotherton, who was soon replaced by other guitarists before the lineup stabilized. By March 1987, the lineup had changed to feature Scotti Hill in place of Yuhas and Rob Affuso in place of Ratkowski. The final piece fell into place when lead vocalist Sebastian Bach replaced original singer Matt Fallon after the band spotted Bach singing at rock photographer Mark Weiss's wedding at the age of 18, and the members asked him to join in early 1987. With this classic lineup set, the band began playing shows in clubs throughout the eastern United States, building a reputation as a hard-edged, glam-tinged hard rock act on the New Jersey and New York club circuit.
